IPL 2021 Qualifier 2, DC vs KKR: DC seek revenge over KKR – IPL’s Delhi franchise — both the Daredevils and Capitals — haven’t had the best of the outcomes in 13 editions of IPL. The franchise, currently led by Rishabh Pant have made it to their third successive playoffs but the title has remained elusive. As they face Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2nd Qualifier on Wednesday, DC face another tough test and seek revenge as they stumbled against KKR back in 2012 under Delhi Daredevils name.

To its credit, the last three years have been fantastic for Delhi. They have remained in the title throughout and the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Kagiso Rabada and Rishabh Pant besides new stars on the block such as Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan have delivered constantly to steer the team.

IPL 2021 Qualifier 2, DC vs KKR: DC seek revenge over KKR – But it is their abysmal Playoffs record that is a matter of concern. Chennai Super Kings have been their thorn as they lost to MS Dhoni’s side in the playoffs thrice while KKR dealt a heavy blow, back in 2012. That Delhi Capitals have lost seven out of nine matches in the Playoffs says a lot about their poor record. Against KKR, Rishabh Pant & Co will have another tough outing at Sharjah on a slow wicket that has been mastered by the likes of Sunil Narine, who had a match-winning performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator on Monday.

Back then, Virender Sehwag was the DC captain and lost to Gautam Gambhir’s KKR after an excellent performance from Sunil Narine and Yusuf Pathan. But KKR, beginning the UAE leg on the backfoot, struggling at the 7th spot, made a fantastic comeback, knocking out others to be in the Qualifier 2.

Even though the captain himself Eoin Morgan has struggled, on slow pitches, Shakib Al Hasan, Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine have been dominant, giving KKR the edge. On Wednesday, the spinners will play another important role at a slow Sharjah wicket.
