IPL 2021 Phase 2 – CSK & DC Request BCCI: Top two leaders of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) points table, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) & Delhi Capitals (DC) wants to reach UAE minimum 1 month early to prepare & continue their dominance of 14th edition of the league. According to a report, both the teams have requested BCCI for the permissions to do the same.

It is worth noting that currently all flights from India to UAE are banned till 30th July. No one has a idea when the flight ban will be lifted. But the current issues notwithstanding, according to a report by Cricbuzz both CSK & DC official have confirmed that they intend to reach Dubai by August 20th.

IPL 2021 Phase 2: CSK & DC to BCCI, ‘we want to be in UAE 1 month before IPL Phase 2 restart’

IPL 2021 Phase 2 – CSK & DC Camp in UAE: “We want to be there by August 15, latest by 20th and we have informed the BCCI that we want to be there by then. We are hoping to get the required permissions, without which the logistical plans will be difficult to execute,” said CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan to Cricbuzz.

This means neither CSK, nor DC will be holding any cricket activities, camps for their teams in India.

– Both teams want to start camp in UAE by August 20

– In view of the pandemic and monsoon, the two sides have shelved plans to hold a camp in India.

– Royal Challengers Bangalore also likely to start their camp in UAE at the same time

It is worth noting that BCCI is yet to release the final dates and schedule of IPL 2021 Phase 2. The franchises at this stage are in complete dark about the start date. InsideSport had reached out to BCCI Treasures Arun Dhumal on 15th July and were told that all preparations are in progress and dates and scheduled will be communicated soon.

We should release dates and schedules soon as final round of preparations are going on at this stage”, declared Dhumal to InsideSport.co

The IPL is expected to restart on September 18-19th and finish by October 15.

IPL 2021 Phase 2 in UAE: Meanwhile Jay Shah, the Secretary of the BCCI is currently in Dubai to meet officials in UAE to finalize everything related to IPL 2021 and T20 World Cup in the region.

Shah met Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, United Arab Emirates Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Social Development and Khalid Al Zarooni. The BCCI Secretary posted the photos on Twitter and he captioned the post as: “Taking @IPL’s remarkable journey to the #UAE again! Thank you, H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan & Khalid Al Zarooni for your lasting friendship and vision. We will overcome trying times and challenges, together.”

BCCI also has managed to convince Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and Cricket West Indies (CWI) to advance the dates of this year’s CPL T20 tournament and the same has already been amended.
