IPL 2021 Orange Cap: DC’s Shikhar Dhawan tops the leaderboard, check out the top 10 leading run-getters of the season: Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan is the Orange Cap holder in the IPL 2021 phase 1 with 380 runs in 8 innings. The experienced campaigner was in terrific form as he slammed three fifties in eight innings before the tournament was called off for the indefinite period.
Shikhar Dhawan averages 54.29 in the so-far IPL 2021 edition and has a good strike rate of 134.27. He has been a consistent contributor with the bat for the last two seasons. In IPL 2019, the Delhi Capitals’ opener scored more than 520 runs whereas, in IPL 2020, Dhawan amassed 618 runs and also became the first batsman in the IPL history to slam two successive tons. He, along with his partner in crime Prithvi Shaw, has propelled Delhi Capitals to the top of the points table and would be hoping to continue in a similar manner in the UAE leg too.
With 331 runs, KL Rahul of Punjab Kings is sitting second in the list of top run-scorers whilst Chennai Super Kings’ Faf du Plessis is not too behind at number 3 with 320 runs.

Rules for IPL 2021 Orange Cap:
- The Orange Cap is offered to the leading run-scorer of the season.
- The batsman with the most runs in the tournament during the season would wear the Orange Cap while in the field.
- In case of a tie, the batsman with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
- The Orange Cap owner who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap till the end of the innings even if an opposition batsman has overtaken his runs.
