CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad played some outstanding knocks throughout the season to help his side reach the final of the IPL 2021. He ended up winning the orange cap in the final game. Gaikwad scored 635 runs in 16 games with a strike rate of 136.26 and an average of 45.35. Gaikwad also has scored one century and four fifties in the tournament. As the pitches were not supporting batsmen he tried to time the ball to perfection and hit as many as 64 fours.

Delhi Capitals topped the tables in the league stages of the game. Two important reasons why they were so successful in IPL 2021 was their superb bowling and the Shikhar Dhawan factor. Shikhar scored 587 runs in this IPL with 63 boundaries in it. Dhawan lost his form in the latter stages of the league which eventually costed DC games.

Chennai Super Kings other opening batsman Faf du Plessis feature in the list with 63 boundaries to his name. He missed the Orange Cap by the smallest of margin. The South African batsman played a magnificent inning in the final to help CSK win their 4th IPL trophy. It was Faf and Ruturaj’s opening partnership that gave CSK an edge over any other team during the league and playoff stages.

Shikhar Dhawan’s opening partner Prithvi Shaw also features in this list even after missing out few matches due to injury. He had hit 56 boundaries in the season with a strike rate of 159.13. Shaw played many explosive knocks to help Delhi Capitals get a solid start. Shaw always made sure that DC makes full use of the powerplay overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders opening batsman Shubman Gill scored a fifty that went in vain in the final of the IPL 2021. The KKR opening batsman was consistent throughout the season. He has hit 50 boundaries in the season to score 478 runs in the season. It was his partnership along with Venkatesh Iyer that helped KKR get through many matches.
