IPL 2021: Jos Buttler confirms, ‘Unlikely to be available for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 phase 2’– What comes as bad news for RR, England wicket-keeper batsman Jose Buttler in a recent interview confirmed that he is unlikely to be available for the upcoming IPL 2021 Phase 2 in UAE.
“Usually the IPL does not clash with any international cricket. When it does clash, probably England will take precedence,” BBC quoted Buttler as saying.
In May, Ashley Giles, the managing director of the England men’s team, has said that the England and Wales Cricket (ECB) are not planning to change their schedule for the IPL 2021.

He will be back in the England team for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka which kicks off on June 23. The right-handed batsman also hopes to be back for the 5-match Test series against India.
Notably, Buttler had scored 254 runs in 7 innings including a century in IPL 2021 Phase 1.
IPL 2021 is set to clash with England’s limited-overs tours to Bangladesh and Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The first game on resumption of IPL will be played on September 19, while the final will take place on October 15. The cash-rich league was suspended in May first week after several COVID-19 cases were reported in the bio-bubble.
With England set to play Bangladesh for 3-match ODI and T20Is, followed by two-match series in Pakistan it is highly unlikely ECB will allow their white-ball players to participate in IPL.
Players: Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Chris Woakes, Jason Roy, Sam Billings, Dawid Malan, Chris Jordan, Jonny Bairstow
IPL 2021 Phase 2 – Foreign Players’ availability big headache for BCCI: It’s clear the board at this stage is worried and concerned about the availability of the top foreign players during the window. Most of the foreign cricketers during this window will busy fulfilling their national commitments.
Be it England, New Zealand, Afghanistan all will be playing for their country in various bilateral series.
