“In my childhood, I used to play tennis-ball cricket. Where we used to live there was a great cricket environment. My brother used to tell me to go and play in the stadium. But I was so serious about cricket then. When I used to go out for tournaments my father used to send someone with me. But when he was assured that I am just playing cricket he was happy. He used to scold me as well when I used to come home late,” Umran said.
Umran also recalled that when he went for his first trial he did not have cricket shoes. “I never used to go for trials. The first time I went the coach asked me why are you wearing spikes. Then I bought spikes and My journey started from U-19 then U-23,” Umran recalled.
