IPL 2021 – MSK Prasad’s big IPL prediction: Former Chief Selector MSK Prasad believes 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) will be an IPL for Devdutt Padikkal (RCB), Shubman Gill (KRR) and Prithvi Shaw (DC) – who will emerge as the 3 brightest youngsters to cement their place for Team India this year.
“I believe, 2021 IPL will be an IPL for Devdutt Padikkal, Shubhman Gill and Prithvi Shaw. Devdutt showed his exceptional talent in the last edition and if he can continue that kind of form this year, one can stop him from an Indian cap. He is an exceptionally gifted player with a wide range of strokeplay. He is already on the radar. But I think he will seal the deal for himself in this IPL. Shubhman has shown the glimpse of a very high-class top-order batsman. This IPL will give him an opportunity to be back in form and get a recall. Prithvi who has an exceptional Vijay Hazare last month is in the form of his life and he certainly wants to prove a point or two. I think these three players will make a maximum mark in this edition,” MSK Prasad told Insidepsort.co in an exclusive interview on Thursday, a day before the 14th edition of IPL begins on Friday.

IPL 2021 – MSK Prasad’s big IPL prediction: So what so special about the trio of Padikkal, Gill & Shaw? MSK Elaborates:
“All 3 are special talents but play differently. While Padikkal is instinctive and plays with flair style, Shubhman is a technically sound and solid batsman who has all shots in his repertoire and Prithvi is a very aggressive batsman who is in top form. All three have it in them to be the core of Indian cricket in future. They are exceptionally gifted and expressive with their bat. So their style of play is tailor-made for IPL and shorter version of the game. So it’s up to them how quickly they seize this occasion and reach where they belong and wear Team India colours. I am so excited about these 3 prospects,” MSK observed.
He said that these days to get into the Indian cricket team is extremely difficult. “The pool of talented players is so large that to break into that league is a Herculean job and then to retain the spot is equally tough. Those with self-belief and mental toughness can get into that league. I am also eagerly looking forward to Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav’s performance in this edition. They are also going to set the IPL nights on fire,’ he signed off.
