The Comeback Kings – Rising from ashes like a phoenix: Not once, not twice but everytime you count them out, MS Dhoni’s CSK bounced back to prove everyone wrong. The fightback qualities, self-belief and cool demeanor makes them the GREATEST IPL TEAM EVER.
Check few samples –
IPL 2020 – We’ll Come Back Stronger, That’s What We’re Known For’ – MS Dhoni promised a comeback after Chennai Super Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time last season & buoy what comeback the team made in IPL 2021.
Trolled with tags like “Dad’s Army” and “old squad” the three-time champion squad (now four) kept the belief & the bunch intact to win IPL once again.
Dhoni 40, Dwayne Bravo 38, Faf Du Plessis 37 – 5 more players 35+, the DAD’s ARMY tag would have humiliated, embarassed others but not CSK. The same tag now sits pretty on CSK’s head – with the worst detractors changing their stand and now saying “THIS DAD’S ARMY is DIFFICULT TO BEAT”

IPL 2018 TITLE – Cameback from 2 Years Ban to Win IPL 2018 Crown: Returning after a two-year suspension due to the alleged involvement of the owners relative in the IPL betting case, they had a point to prove and they did it in style, clinching their third title.
“It’s very hard to rate them, they (IPL wins) all are specials as they are results of our hard work. I think the one coming back in 2018 was very emotional but there is a lot of hard work in this one too.” “If you look back when we were called Dad’s Army in the first year (2018), I think a lot of people had no hope from us to maintain the competitiveness during this cycle.”, declared most succesful IPL Coach Stephen Fleming.

Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings – Who’s better? – Though Mumbai Indians have won 5 IPL titles and are referred to as the best team in the T20 cricket, CSK with MS Dhoni as the leader & few ageless warriors by his side are not 19 to MI in any sense.
CSK vs MI – Ageless Team vs Individual Stars: Unlike Mumbai, CSK doesn’t have mega-stars in the team – but they are a TEAM that can give anyone run for their monies.
The skipper himself didn’t have a good campaign with the bat, his deputy Suresh Raina also struggled, his trusted liutenant Ravindra Jadeja also had a quite tournament by his standards – all this notwithstanding CSK won the IPL 2021.
The likes of Moeen Ali, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Dwayne Bravo didn’t have had the best of the seasons but the WhistlePodu Army kept showing faith in them. And, in the end, they all delivered!
As Robin Uthappa says, “They (CSK) create very secure environment within the group and there’s lot of clarity and communication within the support staff and the players and that really helps in building a secure group. I believe it’s your players who are not playing in the eleven that really create the atmosphere within the group and they make sure that they look after the players who are not playing in the eleven and I think that’s one of the biggest takeaways of our success in IPL,”
Team bonding 🤜🤛

The most loyal and biggest Fan Base – “I Can’t hear you Bish!” that’s what MS Dhoni said at the Toss meeting to Ion Bishop as the entire Dubai International Cricket Stadium cheered for the Thala and their franchise Chennai Super Kings. The Yellow Army fans have religiously supported the four-time winning team – be it in India, South Africa, or UAE. The franchise, too, has been grateful to its fans and even arranged a special “Whistle Podu Express” for its fans to commute to Pune to cheer for their favorites side when CSK” s home fixtures shifted from Chepauk in 2018.

Moreover, don’t be surprised if the same Dad’s Army or the squad of “old” clinches another title in the next season because the Thala assured all CSK fans with a wide grin: “Still I haven’t left behind….”
