“I would love to keep everyone. To be honest, we’ve got everything. Terrific group of people at Delhi Capitals. The players and the coaching staff have done amazing work over the last couple of seasons. Our performance speaks for itself. Disappointed that this season has finished the way that it has,” Ponting said in the post-match conference.
He admitted to the fact that around 3-4 players will be allowed for retention. However, he seemed adamant to bring as many players as possible back to DC camp.
“Obviously, we know that probably we would be able to retain maybe three or four players. So, a lot of players will be going to auction and I’ll be doing everything I can to bring as many people back to the Delhi Capitals family. As I said, it’s been an incredibly enjoyable last 3 seasons for me and this playing group and brings together and most of the guys back together will be a goal in mind,” he added.
Speaking about the match, Ponting felt that DC failed in the batting department completely. They failed to score a decent score in the powerplay and fell short by 8-10 runs towards the end.
