IPL 2021 – Jadeja on MS Dhoni: There is no denying that Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni and star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja share a great camaraderie. Jadeja, who made his debut in all three formats under Dhoni’s leadership, badly misses Dhoni in the Indian team after the latter had retired from international cricket in August last year. In an interview with Times of India, Jadeja said that he misses Dhoni who had guided him a lot on the field.

IPL 2021: CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni’s friendship

Yes, I definitely miss him because he was always guiding me in the right way. If I wasn’t doing the right thing on the field, he would come and talk to me, and tell me that I have to work some more on a particular aspect. He keeps talking to me, and our bond goes back 12 years. I do miss him.

Having played much cricket under both the captains in the Indian team- MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, Jadeja feels that the two have their own unique styles of leadership. While Dhoni remains calm, Kohli is an aggressive player.

I think they are both different in their captaincy. I think Dhoni bhai is very calm, but Virat is more of an aggressive and positive captain on the field. They both have their own styles to lead the team.

IPL 2021: Jadeja reveals his biggest learning from MS Dhoni

IPL 2021 – Jadeja on MS Dhoni: The left-hand allrounder draws learnings from MS Dhoni’s tricks, who always tried to take the game deep till the last over.

I like to finish matches and win it for my team. Now I have started to believe in myself and give more opportunities to myself to stay in the middle and take time. Whenever I get an opportunity to finish the game, I always take the game deep,” Jadeja added.

The 32-year-old furthered that how Dhoni taught him to keep a stable head irrespective of how pressurized the situation may be. He also mentioned that the legendary cricketer has had a big influence on his career.

Dhoni bhai always keeps telling me that whenever I get an opportunity, just think that like you are feeling the pressure, the bowler is feeling it as well. So don’t think just about yourself, but also the bowler. He (Dhoni) has been an amazing influence in my career,” Jadeja said.

Not just in the Indian team, Jadeja has been Dhoni’s resting pulse on the field even in IPL where the two play for CSK. Jadeja, who has played 191 matches in his IPL career so far and scored 2290 runs at an average of 26.62, including two fifties. With the ball, his stats are no less promising where has 120 wickets to his name, including three four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul.
