Virat Kohli IPL Captain: Virat Kohli had announced before the start of the UAE leg of the league that this will be his last season as the leader of the franchise.
“Not the result we wanted but I am so proud of the character shown by the boys throughout the tournament. A disappointing end but we can hold our heads high. Thank you to all the fans, management & the support staff for your constant support,” Virat Kohli wrote on Twitter.

IPL 2021: Virat Kohli pens heartfelt message – Despite stepping down as RCB captain, Kohli reiterated that he will continue playing for the franchise as long as he plays in the IPL.
On Monday, Royal Challengers failed to defend the 138 runs their batsmen managed, which extended their long wait to lift an IPL trophy. The closest they came to winning the trophy in recent times was in 2016 when they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the title decider.

Virat Kohli IPL Captain: His teammate and close friend AB de Villiers too came up with an emotional message for Kohli.
“You have done a great job, but that book is not finished yet. Whatever you have done for us, we won’t forget it. Thanks for all the memories, and I think some of the umpires will sleep a bit better, very happy for them. You make people believe in themselves, more important than winning trophy,” AB de Villiers said.
IPL 2021: AB de Villiers’ message to Virat Kohli – Virat Kohli’s nine-year stint as skipper of the RCB ended but the India skipper confirmed that he will continue to remain with RCB even after stepping down.
“I have been here through all the years with Virat as captain and I think the word that comes to mind is ‘grateful’. We were very lucky to have had you at the front,” AB De Villiers said in a recent video posted by the RCB.
