IPL 2021, RCB vs PBKS: KL Rahul shatters record – Take out David Warner and the only most consistent batsman in IPL is KL Rahul, the Punjab Kings skipper. While Warner had a rare slump in IPL 2021, Rahul became the first Indian batsman to score 500+ runs for a fourth consecutive season, a record even Virat Kohli doesn’t have. On Sunday, with an unbeaten 25, he raced dethroned Ruturaj Gaikwad to take back Orange Cap lead and post yet another 500+ score in IPL.
It all started after KL Rahul moved to Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in 2016. In the first year, he scored 659 runs at an average of 54.91 and a strike rate of 54.19. Since then he has maintained a 50+ average despite PBKS not winning a title.
