Chris Gayle was hospitalized on Saturday evening and he confirmed the news by sharing a picture on Instagram. Earlier, Anil Kumble had mentioned that Gayle was supposed to play the KXIP-SRH clash but wasn’t available for selection as he was down with food poisoning.

On Saturday, during the toss, KL Rahul was expected to announce Gayle’s name but he instead said Chris Jordan would be the overseas player coming in, in place of Sheldon Cottrell.

No one had an idea about the fact that Gayle was unwell and hospitalized on Saturday. Even Star Sports commentators ended up having conversation on why Gayle has not been included in the KXIP’s line up.

Meanwhile on field KXIP’s fortunes continued to be on a downward spiral as they succumbed to a 2 run defeat against KKR despite being ahead in the game for major chunks of it.

Gayle’s fans and KXIP fans would be desperately hoping that he gets fit as soon as possible and help his team to alter their fortunes.

IPL 2020 : Injury scare for Andre Russell, will he play against RCB ?

Andre Russell, who walked off the field injured in the match against KXIP, might feature in the next game going by what Dinesh Karthik said. After Saturday’s game, the skipper revealed that despite some injury scare, Russell should be fit and fine for the next match which is in couple of days time.

Karthik said: “Oh he’s a special bowler for us at the death. He’s an absolute team man. Even though he was injured, he came in and he wanted to field. But he genuinely couldn’t move around very fast. So, he thought it’s better to take a break. We’ve got another game in two days’ time and it’s important for him to be ready for that.”

KKR have moved to 8 points from 6 games after their daylight heist against KXIP which they won by 2 runs. They currently occupy the third position in the points table.
