The Indian Premier League management after franchisees response has slashed the registered players list to less than half for the auction slated for December 19. A total of 332 players will go under the hammer at the IPL 2020 Auction in Kolkata on December 19.

The final list has been sent to the franchises, who have to pick a maximum of 73 players with a maximum of 29 foreigners.

The shortlisted players features 19 capped Indian players, along with 24 new entrants. The top overseas talent includes West Indies fast bowler Kesrick Williams, and former Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim. The 21-year-old Surrey batsman Will Jacks, who had smacked a 25-ball century in a pre-season T10 match against Lancashire in the UAE is also among the shortlisted players.

Among the Indians, Robin Uthappa has the highest base price of ₹1.5 crore, while Jaydev Unadkat, who was the highest buy for the last two seasons, has set himself a base price of ₹1 crore.

The players have been grouped as per their specialty as the auction order starting with batsmen, all-rounders, wicketkeeper-batsmen, fast bowlers and spinners. The auction will commence with different sets of capped players followed by the uncapped players. Although most franchises would be aiming to plug some gaps and looking out for back-up for key slots, some of the bigger names will be optimistic about securing a hefty payday.

All-rounders Glenn Maxwell and Chris Morris, as well as fast bowler Pat Cummins, are all expected to fetch big money at the 2020 IPL auction, scheduled for December 19 in Kolkata. Maxwell along with Cummins, Josh Hazlewood Mitchell Marsh, Dale Steyn, and Angelo Mathews have listed their base price of INR 2 crore.

The auction will also feature England skipper Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy and Australian skipper Aaron Finch and hard hitter Chris Lynn.
