The National Inter-State Athletics Championships scheduled, in June 2024, will act as the final qualification tournament for the Paris Olympics 2024. Panchkula will host the 63rd edition of the tournament from June 27 to 30.
The AFI has prepared a tentative schedule for the domestic track and field events on Wednesday. The schedule was made keeping in mind the Paris Olympics 2024 and the major global competitions.

According to the proposed AFI calendar, the hectic schedule will start with the National Inter District Junior Athletic Meet in Gujarat on January 19. Thiruvananthapuram will host the Federation Cup from May 12 to 15.
The National Inter-State Senior Championships will follow the Federation Cup. And it will act as the last chance for Indian athletes to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024.
“The domestic competition in Panchkula will act as a final selection for the Paris Olympic Games,” Adil Sumariwalla, President of the AFI said in a release.
Apart from the domestic tournaments, the 2024 World Relays in the Bahamas (May 4-5) will be another major international competition since it offers Paris Olympics 2024 qualification berths.
The Paris Olympics will begin from July 26 to August 11. Indian Javelin star Neeraj Chopra will have a big season in 2024. He will enter the Olympics as the reigning champion.
