Insane batting! Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma take Punjab close, social media can’t keep calm

Pressure all-over, dropped catches, sixes, tense faces - It was a dramatic finish to the PBKS vs SRH IPL 2024 fixture

The Mullanpur Stadium witnessed a heart-stopping finish in the IPL 2024 clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Tuesday, April 9th.

Chasing a mammoth total, PBKS needed a near-impossible 29 runs off the final over bowled by Jaydev Unadkat. Enter Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh, the unlikely heroes who almost pulled off a heist for the ages.

Ashutosh, despite giving away two catches that sensationally ended up as sixes over the boundary ropes, kept the chase alive. Unadkat certainly felt the heat as he bowled three wides in the over as well. The left-arm pacer needed to deliver just a couple of pinpoint deliveries, which he ultimately did and brought down the equation to nine runs off last ball.

PBKS’ hero from their game against GT, Shashank Singh capped off the high-octane game with a authoritative six over long-off. However, it only reduced the losing margin for Punjab, who fell short by only two runs.

This last-over drama sent social media into a frenzy! Fans couldn’t hold back their emotions, with tweets pouring in capturing the rollercoaster ride of the final moments.
