In a blow to South Africa cricket team, captain Temba Bavuma has been ruled out of BAN vs SA 1st Test which will begin on October 21. The Proteas will visit Bangladesh for a two-match Test series. Aiden Markram will lead South Africa in the 1st Test while Dewald Brevis has earned his maiden call-up to the Test side.
Temba Bavuma ruled out of BAN vs SA 1st Test
As per Cricket South Africa, Bavuma suffered a left tricep muscle train, leading him to be ruled out of the match. The South Africa skipper will however travel with the team to Bangladesh as he focuses on recovering and preparing for the 2nd Test. Pacer Nandre Burger, who has been ruled out due to lumbar stress fracture, has been replaced by Lungi Ngidi. The squad will convene for a red-ball camp at the Centre of Excellence in Pretoria from October 12 to 14
