Despite an injury scare on Saturday, Suryakumar Yadav has been included in playing XI for the IND vs NZ World Cup match at HPCA Stadium in Dharmshala. Notably, this will be SKY’s debut in ODI World Cup. The 33-year-old replaced all-rounder Hardik Pandya who got ruled out of the match due to an ankle injury.
Earlier today, a big question mark was looming on Suryakumar’s availability after the batter sustained a blow on wrist on Saturday evening in nets.
Suryakumar he was hit on the wrist by India’s throwdown specialist Raghu. The batter looked in terrible pain and immediately walked off the training. Upon being taken under the BCCI medical team, the cricketer applied ice packs. It was later reported that Suryakumar did not go for the X-ray and was feeling better.
Apart from Surykumar Yadav, pacer Mohammed Shami also returned in XI in place of Shardul Thakur for the game. India skipper Rohit Sharma have won the toss and opted to bowl for the big match. Notably, both teams have been unbeaten in the tournament so far, winning all 4 games.
