INDW vs AUSW 3rd T20I: India Women on brink of rare series win vs Australia Women

India have only one series win to show against Australia's four in their five-series bilateral T20I history.

INDW vs AUSW 3rd T20I: India Women and Australia women will clash in the final T20I match on Tuesday, 9 January 2024 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Since both the teams have levelled the series 1-1, the IND W vs AUS W 3rd T20I will be crucial as it will decide the winner of the series.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. won the opening T20I but came crashing down for the second encounter as veteran Ellyse Perry sealed the deal for visitors. On Tuesday, INDW has a chance to win their first-ever T20I against the mighty Australia on home soil.

India have only one series win to show against Australia’s four in their five-series bilateral T20I history. Their triumph in an away affair in 2015-16 sits atop in the list of achievements for this side.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur’s own form with the bat will remain a huge concern for the hosts. The Indian captain has not made a fifty yet in 10 matches so far across formats in these games. She has seven single-digit scores now in 11 innings including the first T20I wherein her services were not required.

A good batting track might be on the cards for the second match as well. The short boundaries at the venue also make the case difficult for the bowlers. The skipper winning the toss might want to have a bowl first with dew expected to arrive later in the evening.
