IND vs AUSW 3rd T20I: Alyssa Healy and Co. completed another thumping win against Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. in series decider on January 9 (Tuesday). Beth Mooney and skipper Alyssa Healy completed fine fifties with the bat as the visitors completed another series over the Women in Blue.
In pursuit of the chase, Australian openers including Mooney and skipper Healy started the innings watchfully against pacer Renuka Singh Thakur and Titas Sadhu. However, both of them soon started to play their shots and make things tough for the Indian side. In the end, the visitors completed the win by 7 wickets with Mooney remaining unbeaten for her fifty.
Earlier in the match, Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana gave a brisk start, scoring 39 runs for the opening stand. Despite losing the former, the hosts were 51/1 at the end of the powerplay. However, Australia mounted a strong comeback and removed three wickets in a flash, including that of on-song Mandhana (29).
Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur had a poor day with the bat followed by Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma piling a 33-run stand for the fifth wicket. Subsequently, Deepti was caught in the deep in an attempt to play a check shot but Richa showed her prowess as she powered quick 34 runs at the late end. Amanjot Kaur assisted the glovewoman and with a final ball six from Pooja Vastrakar, India Women reached 147/6.
