Legends League Cricket is all set to start on September 20, 2024. Originally launched three years ago in 2021, the league is making a strong points with a massive audience of more than 18 crore across India. Typically, 19 matches are played, but this time, the schedule is extended due to the participation of many legendary champions. It is now expected to feature 34 games in total, with six teams competing: India Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Bhilwara Kings, Manipal Tigers, Urban Risers Hyderabad, and Southern Superstars, all eyeing the prestigious silverware.

Shikhar Dhawan

The new name set to take charge in Legends League Cricket is the Indian cricket team’s “Gabbar,” Shikhar Dhawan. The southpaw, who recently retired from international and domestic cricket, will be playing in this tournament for the first time. Known for his high-percentage shots, especially in the white-ball format, Dhawan has scored over 6,500 runs in 222 IPL games, making him the second leading run-scorer in the league. Now he will play for Gujarat Giants in LLC 2024.

Dinesh Karthik

Another big name sure to attract the attention of many teams is former Indian team finisher Dinesh Karthik. His transition from a top-order batter to a finisher, meeting the team’s needs no matter the situation, has been remarkable. Whether playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru or the Indian cricket team, he has consistently delivered. And he will play for Southern Superstars as he was signed directly by the franchise like Dhawan.

Suresh Raina

“Mr. IPL,” who has already played in this emerging league, is all set to take charge once again, this time as the skipper of Hyderabad Urbanrisers. Suresh Raina, who led the team last time, saw Hyderabad fall short in the finals, losing to Manipal Tigers by six wickets. It will be interesting to see how things goest for him in this campaign.
