The top three positions out of four are taken by Indian batters in the latest ICC ODI batters ranking.
Shubman Gill is placed second followed by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Shubman Gill
This was Shubman Gill’s year as he emerged as India’s next star for ODI cricket. Shubman has played 29 matches this year and scored 1584 runs. He firmed his position in the regular Playing XI of Team India. Shubman had an excellent average of 63.36 with five centuries and nine fifties.
Shubman also featured himself in the elite list of players who have scored a double century in 50-over cricket.
Virat Kohli
King Kohli claimed himself as the greatest ODI batter as he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most one-day international centuries. He scored his 50th hundred in the World Cup match against New Zealand at Wankhade Stadium.
Kohli was the leading run-scorer in the ODI World Cup 2023. He scored 765 runs in 11 matches with three tons.
King Kohli has 1,377 runs in 27 matches in 2023. He scored these runs at an outstanding average of 72.47 with six hundred and eight half-centuries.
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma has bagged 1255 runs in 27 games in 2023 with an average of 52.29. He was the second most run scorer in the ODI World Cup 2023 with 597 runs. His highest score of this year was 131.
