India’s highest wicket takers at Gabba, Brisbane

Here is the list of Indian bowlers with the most wickets at Gabba, Brisbane ahead of the India vs Australia 3rd Test.

India looks to bounce back from their defeat in the Adelaide Test as they prepare to face Australia in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The match is set to commence on December 14 at the Gabba in Brisbane. India has a challenging record at this venue, with only one win in seven attempts. That historic victory came in 2021 under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership, where India achieved a thrilling three-wicket win over the hosts.

Indian bowlers with most wickets in Brisbane

Mohammed Siraj, who claimed six wickets in his lone Test appearance at the Gabba, is poised to become India’s highest wicket-taker at the venue if he takes three more wickets in the third Test. Currently, Erapalli Prasanna tops the list with eight wickets, followed by Shardul Thakur with seven. Legendary bowlers Bishan Singh Bedi and Madan Lal share the third spot, each with six wickets at the iconic Brisbane ground.

Meanwhile Jasprit Bumrah will be playing first time at Gabba. He will be expected to take most wickets for India in the next match.

India’s Highest run getters in Brisbane

Motganhalli Laxminarsu Jaisimha holds the record for the most runs by an Indian at the Gabba, amassing 175 runs in a single match. Former Test opener Murali Vijay follows closely with 171 runs during the 2014 Test, where he scored 53 in the first innings and 99 in the second. Ajinkya Rahane also makes the list, accumulating 152 runs across two matches at the venue.
