Indians who finished 4th at Tokyo Olympics 2020

Check out athletes and teams from the Indian contingent who missed the Olympic medal in 2020 after finishing in the fourth spot.

So close, yet so far from a medal. The 2020 Olympics saw Indian athletes and players come so close to winning a medal, but they failed at the very last moment, failing to clinch glory at the biggest stage of all. Let us check out Indian individuals and teams who finished 4th at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Aditi Ashok (Golf)

Golfer Aditi Ashok narrowly missed out on a medal in the women’s individual stroke play event, finishing in fourth place at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday. The 23-year-old was in contention for a medal right until the end but finished a shot behind Japan’s Mone Inami and Lydia Ko of New Zealand, respectively. The Indian also finished only two shots behind gold medalist Nelly Korda (USA).

India Women’s hockey team

The Indian women’s hockey team suffered a heartbreaking loss in the bronze medal match to Great Britain, losing 3-4 in a hard-fought encounter. Despite losing the bronze match, the women’s hockey team exceeded all expectations by reaching the semi-finals for the first time in its Olympic history. The Women in Blue will look to clinch the prestigious medal this time around and try to rectify their mistakes at the Paris Olympics 2024.
