The India vs Australia women’s T20I series is locked at 1-1, and the hosts face the risk of losing yet another bilateral series at home. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team has a decent T20I record overall, where they have won 93 matches out of 176 matches, but the bilateral series’ has been an Achilles Heel.
They have a poor record in India as well as outside India, where series wins have been scanty. After the ODI series loss, now the T20I series is at stake, and the numbers, frankly, aren’t anything to be proud of.
India in Bilateral Series’
The last time the Indian women’s cricket team had won a bilateral series at home, was way back in September 2019, when they beat South Africa 3-1. Since then, a lot has changed. In March 2021, South Africa beat India at home 2-1, Australia beat us 4-1, and England beat us 2-1.
When it comes to the overall record, home and away, the record becomes poorer for Team India. Out of the 27 such series, India has won only 17 of those, and lost 10. India has been mediocre against England and Australia, especially. The English have beaten us in three series out of the three played, and Australia have beaten India on two occasions.

Crucial Third India vs Australia T20I
The third women’s T20I at Navi Mumbai becomes all the more important for India, to get their confidence against the Aussies. Prior to this series, in the 31 T20Is played between these two nations, India had won only six matches, and lost 23. They had a win rate of only 21.66%.
