The India Women’s Under-19 cricket team clinched the Women’s U19 Asia Cup by defeating Bangladesh Women’s Under-19 by 41 runs on Sunday, December 22. It was the inaugural season of the tournament, and the Indian women showcased their dominance to claim the maiden title.
Batting first, India posted 117/7, thanks to a resilient 52 off 47 balls by Gongadi Trisha, which included seven boundaries.
In response, Juairiya Ferdous was the top scorer for Bangladesh with 22 off 30 balls, but their batting lineup struggled against India’s bowlers, Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Sonam Yadav, who dismantled the opposition. Bangladesh was bowled out for 75, handing India a historic victory in the final held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Indian bowlers distroyed the opponent
Sonam and Parunika Sisodia claimed two wickets each, while Aayushi Shukla once again emerged as India’s standout bowler. Shukla, the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, dismantled the Bangladeshi batting lineup with impressive figures of 3.3-0-17-3.
