While the India Cricket Team continues to dominate in the ongoing Cricket World Cup, they do the same in the ICC Rankings. In ODIs, Mohammed Siraj became the World Number 1 after his Asia Cup heroics and now at last, baby GOAT Shubman Gill has overtaken Babar Azam to become the World Number 1 batter.
A complete dominance by the Men in Blue on the field as well in the ranking charts. With 8 wins out of 8, India stands on top of the ICC World Cup points table after having already secured their semi-final spot. India plays their last World Cup group stage match on 12th November against the Netherlands.
Shubman Gill overtakes Babar Azam
Baby GOAT Shubman Gill has finally overtaken the Pakistan Cricket Team’s skipper. While Gill has been inching closer to overtaking Babar since the Asia Cup, the Indian youngster fell short on a couple of occasions. Despite having a sub-optimal World Cup, he overtook Babar and now stands on top of the ODI Men’s standings with 830 points. Babar Azam on the other hand now sits on the second spot with 824 points.
It is safe to say that neither Gill nor Babar is having a great World Cup, but Gill’s consistent 40+ scores and a 92 against Sri Lanka were enough to overtake the Men in Green captain. With Gill now on top of the standings, means India now has the top batter and top bowler in the ODI rankings.

Virat Kohli who is having a brilliant World Cup is stationed 4th with 770 points just a point below Quinton de Kock. If Kohli continues his fine form, he is highly likely to go past the Proteas keeper. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who has been explosive in the World Cup occupies the 6th spot in the standings.

Mohammed Siraj took the top spot after an incredible Asia Cup stint. While Siraj continues his fine, a total of 4 Indian bowlers dominate the top 10 of the ICC ODI standings. Siraj is currently at the top with 709 points while Proteas spinner Keshav Maharaj occupies the 2nd spot with 694 points.
