Indian players’ performance in IPL 2024 after T20 World Cup squad announcement

From Rohit Sharma to Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah - How have the Indian stars performed in IPL 2024 after India Squad announcement

7 matches have been played in IPL 2024 after India Squad announcement for ICC T20 World Cup. And the performances of the selected stars have been sub optimal to say the very least. The only saving grace is some brilliant bowling by Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and some all-round performances by Ravindra Jadeja.

Rohit Sharma – C

In the LSG vs MI clash, Rohit Sharma faltered with the bat. He managed to score 4 from 5 balls. The next match against KKR was no different. He had a stiff back and thus played as an impact sub, only coming to bat. With the bat he was poor, managing just 11 runs from 12 balls. Against SRH he failed yet again, managing to score just 4 runs from 5 deliveries.

Yashasvi Jaiswal – A

India’s destructive southpaw has found his form right before the T20 World Cup. After a rather slow start to IPL 2024, Yashasvi Jaiswal is back hitting the big shots. He went on to slam 67 from 40 balls and looks in deft touch at the moment.

Virat Kohli – A

Virat Kohli has continued his immaculate form throughout IPL 2024. The ace batter for Royal Challengers Bengaluru slammed 42 from 27 balls to answer the ‘strike-rate’ critics in style. Kohli currently tops the IPL Most Runs scored charts with 542 runs from 11 games.

Suryakumar Yadav – B

Surayakumar Yadav‘s inconsistent form in IPL continues. The World Number 1 T20I batter will have to find his form and fitness back as soon as possible. Against LSG he could manage just a 6-ball 10. But the 360 degree hitter found his way back by slamming a 35-ball 56-run knock against KKR. But he stormed his way past SRH with a scintillating century. 102 unbeaten from 52 balls helped MI still remain in contention for playoffs.

Hardik Pandya – B

India’s ace-allrounder is not at the right place in the moment. The New Mumbai Indians captain is going through a lot, especially his form. Hardik Pandya managed a golden duck against LSG but bagged 2 wickets from his 4 over spell. Against KKR, he was a bit expensive with the ball but managed to scalp 2 wickets before faltering with the bat yet again, 1 from 3 balls. Against SRH, Pandya was back to his best, he went on to bag 3 wickets from his 4 overs, giving away just 31 runs.

Rishabh Pant – C

Rishabh Pant returned to action in IPL 2024 after his long injury break. He has performed in patches. After being rusty in his opening two matches, he blasted two back to back fifties to earn his name in the T20 World Cup squad. Pant and Delhi Capitals is yet to play a match after India squad announcement.

Ravindra Jadeja – B

India’s ace all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja too has been rather inconsistent this season. Against PBKS he managed to score just 2 runs from 4 balls. With the ball he was decent, giving away 22 runs in his 3 overs devoid of any wickets. But he shone well in the CSK vs PBKS clash at Chepauk. He batted well to score 43 from 26 and managed to scalp 3 wickets from 4 overs, giving just 20 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav – B

Kuldeep Yadav has been brilliant for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. In his 8 games, he has went on to bag 12 wickets, which thoroughly justifies his selection in the team. Kuldeep is keen to continue his fine form as the tournament progresses to the end.

Jasprit Bumrah – A

Talk about the man of the hour. Jasprit Bumrah along with Virat Kohli has been the best performers in IPL 2024. The ace pacer has been in a league of his own. While Kohli tops the orange charts, Bumrah on the other hand tops the purple cap charts. Against LSG, he failed to get a wicket, but was extremely economical, giving just 17 runs from his 4 overs. Against KKR, it was the same. He bowled 3.5 overs, giving 18 runs and bagging 3 wickets. Against SRH he bagged a solitary wicket giving away 23 runs to stand at top of the Most wickets taken standings with 18 wickets.

Mohammed Siraj – C

After a dismal start to IPL 202,, Siraj is picking up the pace. Since the squad announcement, Mohammed Siraj has recovered and is slowly getting back to his groove. In the last match against GT, he picked 2 wickets from his 4 overs, giving away 29 runs.

Arshdeep Singh – C

Another player who has been making big strides after a poor start is Arshdeep Singh. The left handed pacer has 15 wickets under his belt. At home against CSK, he was expensive giving away 42 runs but bagged 2 wickets. In the return match at Chepauk, he bagged a solitary wicket by giving away 52 runs.
