Mohammed Shami is India’s best strike bowler and one of the best in 50-over cricket.
Despite playing just 15 matches, Shami has more wickets than legends Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, and Anil Kumble.
Shami takes his wickets at an astonishing average of 12.74, with a strike rate of 15.59, while giving away 4.90 runs per over. The pacer also has three 5-wicket and four 4-wicket hauls.
Zaheer Khan (44 wickets)
Zaheer Khan, the joint-highest wicket-taker in the 2011 ODI World Cup, has 44 wickets in just 23 matches.
Zaheer averages 20.22 with the ball, with a strike rate of 27.11, while giving away 4.47 runs per over. Despite playing in three World Cups, the left-arm pacer has just one four-wicket haul in 23 innings.
Javagal Srinath (44 wickets)
Having played four ODI World Cups, Javangal Srinath ended his career as India’s highest wicket-taker.
Srinath took his 44 wickets at an average of 27.81 with a strike rate of 38.63 while giving away just 4.32 runs per over. The right-arm pacer also has two four-wicket hauls in 33 innings.

Jasprit Bumrah (33 wickets)
Already considered to be the best all-format bowler India has ever had, Bumrah is the second active player on the list.
The pacer averages 18.3 with a strike rate of 26.87 while giving away just 4.08 runs per over. The orthodox pacer also has two four-wicket hauls to his name.
Anil Kumble (31 wickets)
The only spinner on the list is Anil Kumble. In a career that spanned four ODI World Cups, Kumble managed to play just 18 matches, taking 31 wickets.
The leg-spinner averaged 22.83 with a strike rate of 33.51 while giving away 4.08 runs per over. He also managed to pick up one four-wicket haul in 18 innings.
