Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami will end 2023 as the leading wicket-takers in ODI cricket.

Indian bowlers were at the top of their game in 2023. With the ODI World Cup 2023 in mind, the Indian cricket team prepared for the big event in remarkable fashion. Although Team India couldn’t get their hands on the World Cup trophy, Indian bowlers claimed many records in 2023.

Most ODI wickets in 2023

India’s cricket team played the most matches (35) in 2023. This saw the Men in Blue propel in the 50-over format, ending the year atop the most wickets column.

The Indian trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami ended the year with the most wickets. Their commendable effort helped the India cricket team clinch the 2023 Asia Cup title and reach the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Mohammed Shami’s World Cup

From not even in the starting XI to becoming the leading wicket-taker, such was Shami’s dream performance. Apart from the pacer from Bengal, the leader of the pack, Jasprit Bumrah, also had a tournament to remember. Due to Shami’s performance, Bumrah went unnoticed despite picking up 20 wickets.
