India vs England: Batter Shubha Satheesh picks up finger injury, ruled out of Test

The 24-year-old Shubha Satheesh made her Test debut in the ongoing India vs England Test.

Promising India batter and debutant Shubha Satheesh, who scored 69 in the first innings of the India vs England women’s Test at Navi Mumbai, has been ruled out of the match due to a finger injury. As per a tweet by the BCCI Women, the talented batter is battling a broken finger.

Despite being India’s best batter in the first innings, where the team scored 428, Shubha could not come out to bat in the second due to the injury. She was slated to bat at no. 3 once again. Meanwhile, in her absence, Yastika Bhatia was promoted up the order, but could only manage to score nine.

Team India Poised to Win England Test

After finishing the second day of the Test at 186/6, and an overall lead of 478, the Indian team did not bat any further and set a huge fourth innings target for the visiting team. With this India looks poised to win their first Test match in nine years. Their last win had come against South Africa in 2014, in Mysore.
