We at Insidesport will take you through 3 things that costed India the T20I series against Sri Lanka.
India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd T20I: Players in isolation
As Krunal Pandya was tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the 2nd T20I, many key players were also kept in isolation and was ruled out of the series. Prithvi Shaw, Hardik Pandya and Deepak Chahar were some important players who missed out on the last two games. India had to go with only five batsmen in the last two T20Is which led to below-par scores in both matches.
India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd T20I: Out of form Shikhar Dhawan
India captain Shikhar Dhawan, who was also the most experienced player in the squad failed to put up a good show. He made 40 odd runs in the first two games but the strike rate was an issue. In the series decider, he opted to bat first and was dismissed in the very first over of the innings on a golden duck.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Rana, Rahul Chahar, Sandeep Warrier, Chetan Sakariya and Varun Chakravarthy failed to make an impact in their debut series.
