When will be the Indian team selected?
The Indian squad for the t20 series against South Africa is expected to be announced on May 25. The Indian team has already suffered significant blows with as many as five players injured and three out of form.
Virat Kohli will be rested. Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar and Suryakumar Yadav have all been injured and are unlikely to be available. The selectors may not want to risk Washington Sundar and T Natarajan, who are still recovering.
India could set a new record
If India beat South Africa in the opening match, they will set a new record for most consecutive match wins in the shortest form of the game.
India have won 12 consecutive Twenty20 matches, equalling the record achieved by Afghanistan and Romania. India’s T20I winning streak began in Abu Dhabi during the T20 World Cup when they defeated Afghanistan. Following that, India defeated Scotland and Namibia.
