India has never lost a World Cup match to Pakistan and hence it’s always a high-tension match-up when both teams meet in the global event. Speaking about the same, Younis Khan, who led Pakistan to its first T20 WC title in 2009, said Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah will be the biggest threat for “Men in Green.” He also said that India’s Rohit Sharma and Pakistan’s M Rizwan can win matches for their respective sides.

Speaking on a YouTube channel ‘Uncut’, Younis Khan says, “Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are two very bankable batsmen for both India and Pakistan respectively, but I feel that Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Rizwan can also turn up the heat. The spotlight will largely be on the two captains, so Rohit and Rizwan will be eased off pressure and can produce match-winning performances for their sides.”

Mohammed Rizwan has looked off-color lately managing just 13 and 19 respectively in the two warmup matches. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, continued his fine IPL form and smashed a quickfire fifty against Australia in the only warmup game he played.

Jasprit Bumrah a key threat for Pakistan: Comparing the bowling attacks of both sides, Khan believes India has a slight edge especially with Bumrah on their side. The 43-year-old said that both sides have a balanced pace attack, but Bumrah is in the next level in the last few months.

“Pakistan’s fast bowlers have been in good shape. For India, their pace attack has improved significantly in the recent past as well. Bumrah, in particular, has been brilliant in the last few months,” Younis Khan further added.

Bumrah finished third in the list of leading wicket-takers in the IPL 2021, picking up 21 scalps in 14 matches. He also looked in top-notch against England in the warmup game, returning with 1-26 in his four overs.

Kohli-Babar comparison not fair: Sharing his views on the Virat Kohli- Babar Azam comparison, Younis Khan said that it’s not fair to compare both players. As per him, Babar Azam is still young and building his career.

Khan says, “Both are top, top players. Babar is still young and he is building his career right now. Kohli, meanwhile, had made his debut in 2008 when I was still playing. I don’t particularly think that the comparison is fair but it’s good to see fans talking about the two players in good stead.”

India vs Pakistan will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Sunday evening and fans can live stream the match on the Disney+Hotstar app.
