“Are you serious? You want to drop Rohit Sharma from the T20 international side. What do you think? I played the best team I thought. What do you think will you drop Rohit for Ishan. I can’t believe you are asking this. If you want to creat controversy you can tell me beforehand,” said Virat Kohli during the post-match press conference.

Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a golden duck by Shaheen Afridi in the match. However, Rohit was coming into this game after scroing a fifty in the last warm-up game while Ishan Kishan also played a good innings against England in the first warm-up game. Rohit Sharma is the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team and Virat could not digest the fact that anyone could think of dropping him. Thus he could not stop his laughter in the press conference.

“That was communicated to us by the management, the Pakistan team agreed to pay their tribute to the same cause. We accepted our side of things and that was how it was decided,” said Kohli while replying to an ANI query during a virtual post-match press conference.
The ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement had gained momentum after the death of an African-American man named George Floyd in May last year after police officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee on Floyd’s neck as suggested by viral videos. Ever since Floyd’s demise, many sportspersons have come out to talk about their experience with racism.
