India vs Pakistan: Good news for Pakistan! India’s chief nemesis Shaheen Afridi returns from injury, bowls tight spell vs England – Watch video
Shaheen Afridi returned to bowling action as the Indian team watched on from the stands on Monday at the Gabba. Defending 160, stand in captain Shadab Khan handed Shaheen the very first over on his return from injury.
The left-arm seamer looked rusty and lacked his usual pace but came off unscathed in what is a huge boost to Pakistan. While his pace was down, Shaheen did find his length pretty early while also generating some swing to trouble both Alex Hales and Phil Salt.
First 2 overs by Shaheen.

The 21-year-old hit the straps conceding just two from his first over, not allowing either of the England batsmen to get run. In his second over he only gave away five finishing with a spell of 0/7 in his two overs. Despite Pakistan being taken to the cleaners, Afridi was eased in with the game against India of paramount importance.
It has been a long road to recovery for Shaheen who missed the Asia Cup earlier this year due to an injury. His knee injury put him racing against time to be fit for the World Cup and the left-armer has recovered well, much to India’s misfortune.
