There is an element of confidence when it comes to Pakistan ahead of the first game. When the two teams met last in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan thrashed India by 10 wickets. Their bowlers and batters had a field day while India were outplayed in all department.

Ever since, Pakistan have played some good cricket and Wasim Akram believes that the team has become a confident team.

“Pakistan team is on the rise for the last couple of years. Have been consistent. The win against India in T20 WC, last year, though a year ago, against India, gave them confidence,” Akram said in a virtual conference organised by Star Sports.

However, Akram is concerned with the batting order of Pakistan, especially at the middle, which lacks experience. As a result, there will be huge pressure on the senior men, including  Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam to deliver their A game throughout the competition.

“Pakistan is a young side, and the only thing I am worried about is the middle order. Not much experience there.  Skipper Babar Azam and Rizwan is the key. In general, Pakistan is confident depend on how they feel, and their mindset before the Indo-Pak game. That game is going to make or break Asia Cup for either side,” Wasim Akram.

In the big competition, both the teams are going ahead with a weakened bowling up. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi is a big miss due to injury. As for India, they are going to be without death overs specialists, Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah.
