INDIA vs IRELAND T20: Sanju Samson’s LAST CHANCE to impress selectors, Rajasthan Royals captain practicing very hard in Trivandrum: Watch Video

Sanju Samson Last Chance: In nets Samson is taking SPECIAL-THROWDOWNS so that he can adjust to pace and bounce of Irish pitches.

In the video, the wicketkeeper-batter was seen defending the ball with a watertight defence. Judging by the looks of it, Samson seemed determined and hungry to make a statement against Ireland.

The Indian batter knows with competition for places growing by the DAY – it could be his last chance to impress selectors.

Why the LAST CHANCE? Samson has got a chance in the team to Ireland as the first choice WICKET-KEEPER Batsman Rishabh Pant is in England.

Pant is not the only ROADBLOCK for Samson. Young Ishan Kishan and resurgent Dinesh Karthik also are now BIG ROADBLOCKS for Samson’s entry into the Indian team.

Until or unless Samson doesn’t do something very special in Ireland, he will not be in CONTENTION for T20 World Cup in Australia.

India Squad for T20 World Cup – Matches left before the finalization of Indian Squad: Selectors now have very limited opportunities to test players before finalization of T20 WC Squad.

For Samson opportunities further get limited. As after Ireland, Indian T20 team plays England and the West Indies. With Rishabh, Ishan, Karthik around, it us unlikely Samson will get a LOOK-IN.

This is the reason Ireland series can be LAST CHANCE for Samson to impress selectors.

  • India vs Ireland – 2 Matches – 26th June to 28th June
  • India vs England – 3 Matches – 7th July to 10th July
  • India vs West Indies – 3 Matches – 29th July to 2nd Aug
  • Asia Cup T20 starts August 27th (Officially Dates still not released)

India Tour of Ireland: Sanju Samson aims for consistency while playing for India

  • Big performance is what the selectors would be hoping for from Samson against Ireland.
  • In the T20Is that he played, Samson has just scored 174 runs at a dismal average of 14.5.
  • The right-hand batter has not been able to translate his humungous potential at the international level
  • Samson is a quality player with an array of shots. But he throws his starts away by playing one shot too many
  • With only a handful of T20Is set to be played before the T20 World Cup, Samson has to score big in order to find a spot for the showpiece event
  • He had a good IPL 2022 season as he scored 458 runs in 17 games at a strike rate of 146.79

Backers and fans of Samson will hope, the Rajasthan Royals skipper this time will not throw away his chance.
