The India Women Under-19 team has stormed into the final with a dominant win over England Women Under-19 in the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup. The junior women in blue are in lethal form, continuing their unbeaten run in the competition. After thumping every team in the group stages and then in the Super Six, they once again showcased their remarkable performances at Bayuemas Oval against England, defeating them by 8 wickets.
Aayushi Shukla and Vaishnavi Sharma dismantle England’s batting
The batters did the job later, but it was the three emerging bowlers who created havoc against the England batters. Vaishnavi Sharma and Parunika Sisodia picked up 3 wickets each, while Aayushi Shukla took 2 wickets, dismantling the England camp.

On one hand, Sharma is the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 12 wickets, which includes a hat-trick against Malaysia. Chasing 114 didn’t pose a major challenge for India Under-19 Women’s team as they came to bat. As they delivered a commanding performance against the England side, thanks to the consistent Gongadi Trisha, who has been showcasing her brilliance with the bat throughout the tournament. Once again, she impressed with a solid knock. Alongside her, G Kamalini tackled the situation well, making a big contribution. Trisha scored 35 runs off 29 balls, helping the team cross the semifinal barrier and secure a spot in the final.

All eyes are on the final now, as India enters with the aim of securing the trophy once again, having been the defending champions. On the other hand, an aggressive and in-form South Africa comes in after beating Australia, making the contrast extremely interesting. The final is set to take place on February 2, 2025, at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, with the match scheduled to start at 12 PM IST.
