Chakravarthy and Tewatia failed the first fitness test conducted by BCCI at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bangalore last month.
While the results of Chakravarthy’s second fitness test are yet to be released, according to the Cricbuzz report, Tewatia is in quarantine in Ahmedabad along with the rest of India’s T20I team.
Meanwhile, India’s think tank will also be busy deciding who they should pick for the first T20, scheduled on Friday (March 12).
India’s playing XI for 1st T20I vs England: KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant – Who will don the big gloves?
With KL Rahul back in the fray for the playing XI and Rishabh Pant’s roaring comeback, the team selectors are now in a fix. However, keeping Pant’s recent form in mind, it is likely that the youngster will be handed behind the stumps responsibility.
There is also Suryakumar, who will be fighting for the place in the starting eleven. But given Rahul and Pant’s prowess with bat and experience at the international level, it is unlikely the Mumbai Indians’ star will start in Ahmedabad.
