[EXCLUSIVE] Monty Panesar reveals how England can bounce back in Ranchi Test after Rajkot loss

In an exclusive chat, former England spinner Monty Panesar opened up on England's chances of bouncing back in the series after a heavy loss in Rajkot.

England suffered a crushing defeat against India in the India vs England third Test in Rajkot on Sunday (February 18) to trail behind for the first time in the Test series.

Chasing a target of 552, England’s ‘Bazball’ collapsed dramitically as the visitors got bundled out for 122 runs in the fourth innings.

Team India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star of the Rajkot Test as he hit his second Test double-century in the third innings to help India post a mammoth target.

With the visitors trailing 2-1 in the 5-match series, former English spinner Monty Panesar believes that Ben Stokes and Co. will need to work out on dismissing Jaiswal early to bounce back in the series.

In an exclusive chat with Insidesport, Panesar hailed the young Indian opener and suggested that the England bowlers will work on their line to get Jaiswal out early.

“What England need to do to bounce back in the series is work out how to get [Yashasvi] Jaiswal out early. The left hand young opener is batting superbly”, Panesar said.

“I believe, even with the new ball, they need to bowl fifth or sixth stump. And with the spinners, I think don’t bowl at the wickets, you know, ball really wide away from his eye line or bowl really wide angles from the crease which makes it difficult for Jaiswal to line the ball up”, the former England spinner further added.

Jaiswal’s wicket big factor: Monty Panesar

Monty further added that Jaiswal’s wicket will be a big factor in deciding the series in the upcoming Tests.

“I think that is going to be a big factor. If they can get him out early, that that would give a lot of satisfaction to this England team”, Panesar opined.

The fourth IND vs ENG Test will begin on February 23 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
