IND vs ENG 5th Test: Yashasvi Jasiwal and Kuldeep Yadav shines brightly as Team India outclass England in Dharamshala Test

The India Cricket Team continues to dominate England in the IND vs ENG 5th Test at Dharamshala. The visitors won the toss and opted to bat first. The tourists in fact got a good start before the Indian spinners wreaked havoc. Kuldeep Yadav reached 50 Test wickets with a stunning fifer. Ravi Ashwin on the other hand, bagged a four-fer on his 100th Test cap.

India headed into the game with 3 spinners and two pacers as Jasprit Bumrah returned to the India Playing XI. The Three Lions got a steady start. Opener Zac Crawley hammered a good fifty before departing on 79. Fellow opener Ben Duckett too managed a respectable 27.

While the English top order didn’t disappoint much, it was the collapse in the lower order that led to their downfall. England went on to lose 7 wickets from adding just 43 runs. Kuldeep’s fifer helped him reach a milestone of 50 Test wickets.

Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Ashwin wove magic with the ball in the second session of the day. Come the third session, the duo continued their magic to bowl out England more a mere score of 218 runs. India’s spin trio bagged all the wickets as Ravindra Jadeja took the solitary wicket of Joe Root.

England hoped to start their bowling spell well, but failed. The dominant pair of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal stood firm and mounted their attack. The destructive duo hammered fours and sixes in flurry to hunt the visitors. Yashasvi Jaiswal went past Virat Kohli’s most runs in a Test series against England.

He then slammed a fine fifty to cross 1000 Test runs in his only 9th Test match for the country. Keen to hit back to back fours after his fifty, Yashasvi threw his wicket. Skipper Rohit Sharma too didn’t go slow. The Hitman continued his slogging and wrapped up his fifty as India looked well settled to outclass their opposition. India ended Day 1 with a score of 135/1 with Shubman Gill unbeaten on 26 and Rohit on 52.
