India vs England, 1st Test: R Jadeja continues his impressive run in England, completes 2000 runs in Test cricket: Ravindra Jadeja silenced all critiques who marred India’s selection policy of picking Jadeja over Ravichandran Ashwin in the first Test match against England in Nottingham. Walking the crease in the first session of Day 3 after India were dashed following the middle over collapse, Jadeja came to be an oasis for the visitors. Not just he smashed a fifty and achieved his personal landmark of completing 2000 runs, he lent monumental hands alongside KL Rahul as the duo stitched a fifty run partnership for India.
Just what #TeamIndia needed. A fine FIFTY from @imjadeja off 81 deliveries 👏👏
This is his 16th in Test cricket.

Jadeja came when India was trailing by 38 runs then scored 56 runs from 86 balls and guided India to lead some runs in their first innings. Just when England quicks were expecting some flesh after tumbling five Indian wickets, Jadeja came out to be a thorn in the forest.
In his instrumental knock of 56 runs, Jadeja smashed eight fours and one six. The left-handed batsman departed soon after scoring his half-century. He looked in fine touch before he fell prey to Ollie Robinson’s delivery.
Soon after Jadeja smashed a half-century, which was the 16th of his Test career he celebrated the moment in his signature swinging-bat style.
I was waiting for this celebration. How good is Sir Jadeja? Great half century! #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/Ixji7r2jUg

Ravindra Jadeja’s bizarre form against England
The 32-year-old holds a phenomenal record against the Three Lions. He holds an impressive average of 33.41 against England, which is quite significant accounting for the position he walks into.
Moreso, his records against England in England are also noteworthy. The ace allrounder holds a remarkable average of 30.25 on the England side.
Earlier during the day, former England skipper Michael Vaughan heaped praises for India’s allrounder Ravindra Jadeja in a Tweet.
Brilliant Cricketer @imjadeja !!! First name on any team sheet … #ENGvsIND
