The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) & Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have released the schedule for India’s senior men’s cricket team tour of Bangladesh in 2025. The series will feature three One Day Internationals (ODIs) followed by three T20 Internationals (T20Is), with matches set to take place in Mirpur and Chattogram. This is the first time Bangladesh will be hosting India for a T20I series.
BCB happy with the series
The matches are expected to draw a lot of interest from fans in India and Bangladesh, especially with the games rotating between the venues in Mirpur and Chattogram. BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said: “This series promises to be one of the most exciting and most anticipated events in our home calendar. India have set the benchmark in international cricket across all formats and the cricket-loving millions in both countries are sure to enjoy this contest.“
When Bangladesh came to India in 2024
The last bilateral series between India and Bangladesh took place in September and October 2024 in India. During that series, India completed a clean sweep, winning the Test series 2-0 and the T20I series 3-0. This impressive performance at home has set high expectations for India as they head to Bangladesh.
Opportunity for emerging players
The 2025 series against Bangladesh will provide a great platform to test young talent. With fatigue likely to be a factor following a busy tour of England starting in June, where India will play five matches, this series offers a chance for promising players, especially those who shone in the IPL, to earn a maiden call-up and prove their game on the international stage.
