India women’s cricket team will take on Bangladesh in the semi-final of the Women’s Asia Cup on July 26 in Dambulla. While Harmanpreet Kaur and co. have stayed unbeaten so far in the tournament, Bangladesh lost one game and managed to finish 2nd on the Group B standings. In the other semi-final, hosts Sri Lanka will take on Pakistan.

India have found a new rival in the form of Bangladesh in women’s cricket. The two sides last met during a five-match T20I series in April where Harmanpreet Kaur and co handed the neighbours a 5-0 thrashing. Batting ace Smriti Mandhana, skipper Kaur and Radha Yadhav had memorable outings in the series, with letting the bat and the ball do the talking.
Meanwhile, in the Asia Cup 2024, Bangladesh managed to get their first win of after defeating Thailand women’s team by 7 wickets. They then sealed the semi-final berth with an emphatic 114-run win over Malaysia.
