India Tour of WI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to Cricket West Indies’ request to play two additional T20Is on the West Indies tour in July. While the original schedule was for 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20s, it will now be a 10-match tour with the addition of two more T20s. Rohit Sharma-led India Cricket Team will leave for West Indies in July 1st week but the complete schedule is only expected later at night. Follow India vs West Indies LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

The series is part of the ICC’s new Future Tours Program (FTP). The two Tests will be part of ICC World Test Championships 2023-25. As per a Cricbuzz report, the BCCI and CWI have in discussion regarding the tour for some time. But it is only now that they have agreed to the terms. However, the final schedule will be ou only at CWI’s AGM tonight.

“BCCI and CWI have a healthy bilateral relationship that is based on mutual respect and understanding of each other’s needs and role in world cricket. The schedule will be out soonest,” Ricky Skerritt told Cricbuzz.

BCCI agreed to play two additional T20s during Jay Shah’s visit to Dubai earlier this week for ICC and ACC meeting. However, both boards have stayed silent on the matter so far.

The long tour is expected to begin on July 10-12 with the two-match Test series. It will conclude with the five-match T20 series in August. However, there is still no word on whether Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma will play in T20s. Considering the next T20 World Cup will be in the West Indies and the US, the selectors will need to take a call on whether they see the senior players in the squad. The T20 squad will then travel to Ireland to play a three-match series as already announced by Cricket Ireland last month.
