The players will take the flight from Manchester to Port of Spain on July 18 after the 3rd ODI against England. India will play three ODIs and five T20Is against West Indies, starting July 22. While Indian players flew commercial to England for the 5th Test and the white-ball series in two batches, there is a change in plan. The BCCI is wary of the Covid-19 threat that ruled Rohit Sharma out of the crucial 5th Test and India ended up on the losing side.

However, multi-format players including skipper Rohit Sharma won’t be available for the ODI series. Shikhar Dhawan instead will lead the ODI side. Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant all have been rested for the ODI series. Ravindra Jadeja has been named the vice-captain while the regulars will return for the T20 series, starting July 29.

- The players who are in England will fly to the Caribbean directly in a charter flight. The rest will assemble in Port of Spain by July 19.
- BCCI has gone the charter flight route to avoid any COVID-19 cases.
- Shikhar Dhawan will lead the ODI squad in Rohit Sharma’s absence.
- KL Rahul won’t be available for the series starting July 22.
- Two other captains, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah have also been rested while Bhuvneshwar Kumar continues to be a miss in the ODI squad.
