India Tour of Sri Lanka – India vs Sri Lanka Series Postponed: As Covid-19 has stuck Sri Lanka camp, the India vs Sri Lanka ODI series is set to be postponed for few days. According to the information available, instead of 1st ODI starting on 13th July, now the series will start between 17th July to 20th July. The SLC will announce the new schedule in by tomorrow – but the decision to postponed the series by few days was confirmed by SLC Sec Mohana De Silva to InsideSport over phone from Colombo.
“All players of the team have tested negative, but we are mindful of the fact that the team’s batting coach & data analyst tested positive and for that reason we are likely to reschedule the series”, confirmed Sri Lanka Cricket Secretary Mohana De Silva to InsideSport.
According to the information available, SLC will announce the revised schedule after discussion with BCCI & and the broadcasters.

India Tour of Sri Lanka: IND vs SL ODI series set to be postponed for few days due to Covid-19 cases in host team
It is worth noting that Sri Lanka’s batting coach Grant Flower and a team analyst were recently tested positive for COVID-19 on their return from the England tour.
InsideSport also reached out to BCCI who declined to comment on the issue for now.

Sri Lanka Cricket team which landed in Colombo on 6th July is currently in a quarantine as per the local protocols.
The positive Covid-19 report of batting coach Grant Flower & data analyst has further compounded Sri Lanka’s problems. According to the information available with InsideSport.co, the health authorities in Sri Lanka have already isolated and quarantined the players who had returned from England. As per the local protocols, they will have to complete mandatory 7 days quarantine before they are allowed to participate in the nets session.
“We can’t help the situation. These are the kind of times we are living in, team will have to follow all health protocols as directed by the authorities. Yes it is correct the players who will be selected from the squad who were in England is unlikely to get net session before the 1st game if the series starts on 13th July”, declared Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Selector of Sri Lanka Cricket.

It is worth noting that the entire squad after their arrival from England on 6th July was tested for Covid-19. All of the players have tested negative but Sri Lanka’s batting coach tested positive. At this stage the entire squad is quarantined in a hotel in Colombo and will have to complete 7 days quarantine.
– As per the local norms 14 days quarantine is necessary before being cleared to move freely
– As Sri Lanka team was in a BIO-BUBBLE authorities decided to reduce the quarantine period to 7
– First 3 days of Quarantine, they are completely locked in their rooms
– Next 4, they will be allowed to use hotel Gym & Pool
– The players can participate in any kind of outdoor activity only after completion of 7 days quarantine
– The Quarantine period for Sri Lankan team will end on 12th July
