Oldest to make captaincy debut for India

Shikhar Dhawan is all set to be India’s 25th ODI captain at the age of 35 years and 220 days. Dhawan will be the oldest Indian to make captaincy debut in fifty overs cricket. He is the third oldest overall to make a captaincy debut as Mohammad Hafeez from Pakistan made his captaincy debut at the age of 36 while West Indies’ Floyd Reifer lead the national side for the first time at the age of 37.

In the last 37 years, India and Sri Lanka have played at least one ODI every year. Both the sides have played 159 ODIs between them, which is the highest by any two teams. If India beat Sri Lanka 3-0, 2-0 or 2-1 they will have more than 96 wins against Sri Lanka in the ODI format, which is the most win by any side against a particular team.
