India Tour of South Africa: Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj amongst others begin preparation for SA tour: Team India is all set to embark on a tour to South Africa later this month. The Indian stars returned home after the series against New Zealand and have started training on their own while spending some time with their families before yet another overseas tour. The players will assemble in Mumbai before travelling to South Africa on December 16.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, KL Rahul & others toiled hard in the training sessions. KL Rahul, who missed the New Zealand Test series due to an injury, was too seen spending some time to get back in the groove.

Team India players are all set to depart for South Africa next week but will enter a bio secure in Mumbai. Team India played in The Wankhede, Mumbai against New Zealand earlier this month, before returning to their homes for a short break ahead of South Africa.

“Players will be assembling in Mumbai tomorrow. Rohit and Virat will also join. They will enter bio-secure bubble and will leave for Johannesburg on December 16,” a BCCI official told InsideSport.

Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara posted his goodbyes on social media, posting pictures with his wife and kids on Instagram. Pujara wrote, Last day at home before another Tour begins! Look forward to the challenge ahead, but will miss these two.” Pujara was part of the five-test series against England and was in the bio-bubble with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), while was elevated to vice-captain for the 1st Test against New Zealand.

According to reports in local media, Irene Lodge will host the Indian cricket team once they arrive on 17th December. This is the same hotel where earlier Sri Lanka & South Africa team were hosted. The Indians will be based at the hotel for the Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Virat Kohli’s team will stay put at the same hotel for the New Year’s Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg before moving to Cape Town.

India Tour of South Africa: Team India to assemble in Mumbai on Sunday before departing for Johannesburg on December 16

The squad will see the return of many Team India regulars, with Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami all returning after missing out on the series against New Zealand.

Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Md. Siraj.

Standby Players: Navdeep Saini, Saurabh Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Arzan Nagwaswalla.
